The Cabinet Panel on School Organisation (a Sub-Committee of Cabinet) was established by Cabinet in June 2007 to deal with issues of School Organisation. This followed changes in legislation that led to School Organisation Committees being abolished.

The Panel comprised of any 5 members of Cabinet for each meeting, will consider the outcomes of consultation across a range of school organisation issues such as school expansions, closures and opening of new schools subject to "competition regulations".
