Purpose of Committee
The Swindon Children and Young
People’s Partnership Board is an independent body with
advisory status, which makes recommendations to the Council on
strategic issues relating to Children’s Services in
Swindon.
The Board is chaired by an independent
person appointed jointly by Swindon Borough Council and the
Secretary of State for Education and Skills, and includes
representatives of the Borough Council, the Primary Care Trust, the
Police, Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust, head teachers, school
governors, the Diocese, trades union and the Learning and Skills
Council.
The terms of reference of the Board are
set out in its
Memorandum of Understanding.
