            Resolved – That the minutes of the meeting held on 10^th May 2006, be confirmed and signed as a correct record.

            No public questions were asked under Standing Order 28. 

            The Director of Law and Democratic Services submitted a report concerning proposed changes to Committee memberships and the Council’s representation on other bodies for the remainder of the Municipal Year 2006/07, that were required to comply with political balance arrangements under Section 15 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, following the decision of Councillors Mavis Childs and Peter Mallinson to join the Conservative Group on the Council. 

            Resolved – (1) That, having carried out a review under Section 15 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, the Council continue to apply the political balance provisions under the Act.

            (2) That Committees, and other relevant Council bodies, where appropriate, be reminded of their duty to carry out a review and recommend that having carried out that review they continue to apply the political balance provisions.

            (3) That the membership of the Council’s Committees and other bodies for the Municipal Year, 2006/07 be revised as set out below –
