Minutes for Confirmation

(1) To consider Minutes for Confirmation from Cabinet:

·         Minute 8(1) – Adult Learning Plan

·         Minute 10(2) – Treasury and Capital Update

 

(2) To consider a Minute for Confirmation from the Swindon Children’s Trust Board:

·         Minute 4 – Children and Young People’s Early Support Strategy 2013-16

 

(3) To consider a Minute for Confirmation from Licensing Committee:

·         Minute 12 - The Establishment of Markets in Swindon Town Centre (Minute to follow)

Minutes:

(1) Councillor Fionuala Foley moved and Councillor David Renard seconded:

 

“That Minute 8(1) of the Cabinet (Adult Learning Plan) be confirmed and adopted.”

 

            The Motion was put to the vote and declared carried.

 

(2) Councillor Russell Holland moved and Councillor David Renard seconded:

 

“That Minute 10(2) of the Cabinet (Treasury and Capital Update) be confirmed and adopted.”

 

            The Motion was put to the vote and declared carried.

 

(3) CouncillorFionuala Foley moved and Councillor David Renard seconded:

                                

“That Minute 4(1) of the Swindon Children’s Trust Board (Children and Young People’s Early Support Strategy 2013/16) be confirmed and adopted

 

The Motion was put to the vote and declared carried

 

(4) CouncillorAndrew Bennett moved and Councillor David Renard seconded:

 

“That Minute 12(2) of the Licensing Committee (The Establishment of Markets in Swindon Town Centre) be confirmed and adopted. 

 

            Councillor Mark Dempsey moved and Councillor Jim Robbins seconded that the Motion be amended to read:

 

“That the Cabinet Member for Public Protection, Housing and Streetsmart (Delivery) and the Chair of the Licensing Committee be requested to work, on behalf of the Council, with InSwindon to take action to create a regular calendar of specialist markets; and ensure a Christmas Market is delivered for 2013. Further, if InSwindon is unable to deliver such a market, the Cabinet Member should work with partners in Swindon to deliver a people’s market which reflects the unique character of Swindon.”

 

            The Amendment was put to the vote and declared lost.

 

            The Motion was put to the vote and declared carried.
